Chemical skin peels are a relatively painless exfoliation process that removes the top layer of skin leaving the face looking fresh. It accelerates the removal of old skin cells and promotes the development of new cell growth.
The results of a chemical peel can be seen immediately after the procedure. Some natural skin peeling will be experienced following the treatment; this will be similar to mild sun burn for around 3-5days. Following this process the effects will be fully visible.
In preparation to the treatment, specified skin care products are recommended for use to ensure that the skin is in optimum condition. After the procedure a skin care regime is advised to ensure the skin is kept in the best condition possible to prolong results. Specified skin care products and skin care regimes will be discussed by our practitioners during your consultation prior to the treatment.
There may be some discomfort felt following the procedure similar to mild sun burn.
As there is no recovery time needed following this procedure you may wish to return to work.
All ages and skin types can use this treatment. However it is recommended that people with active pustular acne or anyone who take certain treatments for acne to avoid having a chemical peel. This is left to the discretion of the practitioner
Sun exposure should be avoided for a minimum of 4 weeks following the treatment and when skin is exposed to sun always use at least a SFP 25.
